If you use your kitchen as much as I use mine, chances are the one thing you wish you had more of is counter and storage space. Don’t get me wrong, my kitchen is a very good size and it is certainly an upgrade from my last one, but for some reason, when I get cooking, I never seem to have enough room to work with. Because of this, I’ve considered adding a portable island to my kitchen. I think it would be the perfect solution to my problem and the finishing touch I have been looking for.
While I’m not sure when I will get my hands on an island, or if it will be store-bought or homemade, I know there’s plenty of inspiration out there that I can use to plan for my future addition. Take the amazing unit below, built by Imgur poster timmm3000. He managed to turn a collection of old pallets into the perfect kitchen island that not only serves as an extra bit of counter space, but also as storage! To see how he did it, check out the tutorial below.
